REGIONAL BEREAVEMENT COORDINATOR
Full Time
(Covering New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties)
Job Description:
- Administer a planned bereavement program in a regional area.
- Provide bereavement services to assist the patient, family and other individuals in coping with grief/bereavement in an organized program.
- Provide organization of planned bereavement programs in regional offices.
- Training of staff for providing bereavement/grief support to families and providing care to bereaved through program plan.
- Provide statistical reporting and appropriate documentation in bereavement care.
- Accountable in coordinating outreach and support for bereavement care and support in community and contracted facilities.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum requirement is a bachelors' degree in human services field such as social work, psychology, counseling or related field with experience and education in death and dying and the grief process.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience in group facilitation and support intervention.
- Knowledge of the signs of grief symptoms and process.
- Demonstration of proficiency in writing and oral communication.
- Knowledge and skill with computer software programs to include Word, Excel and documentation system.
- Must accept travel and working conditions as assigned.
